Pancakes take patience.

Pancakes take patience.

My name is Rebecca Pilcher and I make the best pancakes.

I have been a perfectionist for over 20+ years. Starting at age 15 when I was the welcoming server at an award-winning BBQ restaurant in Des Moines, IA, continuing through my current work today as Director, Marketing Communications for the Drupal Association, working with our global business community to position Drupal as the natural fit for brands looking to innovate through ambitious digital experiences.

I have led marketing and creative teams dealing with incredibly confused and demanding clients, coached a dozen pre-teen gymnasts preoccupied with boy bands, and wrangled a household of boys through preschool meltdowns. I troubleshoot and communicate with calm and patience, humour and creativity, through all kinds of chaos. It’s my forte.

In my past 14 years of brand marketing work, I have come to understand that I prefer creative, team-focused companies. I contribute to morale with my affable personality, to productivity with my willingness to learn, lead and work hard, and to product quality with my attention to detail and perfectionism. According to typingtest.com I type 77 words per minute, but I think if I trimmed my fingernails, I might be a bit faster.

Overview

Analytical and proactive marketing communications director and team leader with over 14 years of experience in strategic and creative management, team leadership, process development and implementation, and hands-on execution.

Where i excel

I see the big picture along with all the tiny details, bringing creation from strategy conception to implementation – encouraging: test, fail, succeed, and iterate – quickly and thoughtfully.

I am a leader – whether mentoring direct reports or shepherding indirect team members and hundreds of volunteers.

I am fun, and I care about my coworkers and creating an open environment where they feel comfortable coming to me for advice and collaboration.
